Weddings
The wedding ceremonies I write and conduct are symbolic. They are NOT civil valid. If you are interested in validating your marriage to the registry you should at some point have a civil or religious wedding. The structure of the ceremony will be discussed between you and I and will be carefully crafted to provide you with a ceremony that speaks directly to you and your family and friends. If you are at all daunted by the prospect of being part of creating your own ceremony, please don't be. I can guide you as much or as little as you want with readings, music choices, vows, promises, and structure. I can provide you with a traditional format for us to work from or take your unformed ideas and make them cohesive. That's part of what makes this job so rewarding.
Unlike a civil ceremony, which can only take place in a civic registered venue, a bespoke wedding can take place anywhere. Abroad or at home, indoors or outdoors you can decide where the ceremony should take place.
Love Ceremonies
Every celebration and occasion can become special with a Ceremony of Love. Personal life journeys, vows renewal, occasion appropriate readings, children welcoming, whatever you have written and want it read, anything and in anyway you need it.

Ritual and tradition have always existed for humankind around moments that are steeped in emotion - births, coming of age, marriage, death - we use them as markers to help make sense of our feelings, highlight their importance and to articulate how we feel. This is why we still need them, even if we find ourselves living in a more secular society. We like to celebrate, we need to. So let's.

Όταν αποφασίσαμε ο γάμος μας να μη γίνει με μια παραδοσιακή τελετή αλλά με κάτι διαφορετικό και πιο συμμετοχικό, δεν φανταζόμασταν ότι το αποτέλεσμα θα μάγευε και εμάς αλλά και τους προσκεκλημένους. Γνωρίζοντας την Μιχαέλλα, νομίσαμε από την πρώτη στιγμή ότι μιλάμε με έναν άνθρωπο που μας ξέρει χρόνια! Οργανώσαμε ένα λιτό αλλά πανέμορφο τελετουργικό το οποίο εξελίχθηκε σε μια «ταινία της ζωής μας» μπροστά στα μάτια συγγενών και φίλων οι οποίοι όχι μόνο παρακολουθούσαν αλλά ήταν κομμάτι της ταινίας αυτής. Τις επόμενες ημέρες, το τηλέφωνο δε σταμάτησε να χτυπά, αλλά ακούγαμε κάτι παραπάνω από ευχές: για το ποσό ενθουσιάστηκαν και συγκινήθηκαν με την τελετή. Η τελετή της Μιχαέλλας θα μας συντροφεύει για πάντα και ήταν ο καλύτερος τρόπος για να ανοίξουμε τη νέα σελίδα στη ζωή μας.

We wanted to get hitched in the beauty of Pelio without the formalities of a religious ceremony or of a stuffy mayor’s office. Having lived in the UK for so long, we were surprised to find just how hard it was to do that back home in Greece. We stumbled across Michaella’s website randomly (the stars were aligned!) and could never have imagined that it would lead to a day that far exceeded expectations. We were given complete freedom to make the ceremony ours, to write our own vows, to discover our own location, somewhere no one could ever have considered, vows that no one else could have written for each other! Throughout the preparations, Michaella guided us the whole way. We got to know her and her family well, over plenty of tsikoudies, chatting at their beautiful house, driving around Pelio together but also through numerous Skype sessions, WhatsApp texts and emails when we were in London, so whilst daunting, the experience of a ceremony abroad was made easy. And so important was that fact that it wasn’t someone random who united us. The weekend was FUN, no formalities, no stress, no obligations. 18 months on and our friends still talk about that day. We have much to thank Michaella for and to us, she is a friend for life!
